Permitted Explosives

Introduction
Permitted Explosives manufactured by IDL are classified under
three categories - Godyne (P1), Permadyne (P3) and Pentadyna
(P5). These are exceptionally safe aluminised cap sensitive
explosives with a low detonation temperature, complimented
by insensitivity to friction and heat. There is a great reduction
in noxious fumes normally associated with nitroglycerine.
Their compatibility with water and consistency offer improved
hole filling characteristics. Like all other permitted explosives,
they must be used with approved type of detonators. These
explosives are sensitive to No. 6 detonator with a density
of 1.05 to 1.16 gms / cc and a detonation velocity of 3050
to 3650 mtrs. / sec.

Godyne has been approved by DGMS* for use in gassy
coal mines / seams of Degree I for blasting in coal after
it has been mid-cut, under-cut or over-cut Maximum charge
per hole should not exceed 800 gms.

Permadyne has been approved by DGMS* for use in gassy
coal mines / seams of Degree I+II for blasting in coal after
it has been mid-cut, under-cut or over-cut. Maximum charge
per hole should not exceed 1000 gms.

Pentadyne has been approved by DGMS* for use in gassy
coal mines / seams of Degree I+II for blasting in coal off
the solid. Maximum charge per hole should not exceed 1000
gms.
